First off I plan to play LOTRO when it goes free to play.

But I'm looking for a new rpg to play, it can be on any of these systems:
original xbox
ps2
psp
ds
pc

Not looking for "a classic rpg" (for instance Chrono Trigger)

Looking for something sort of new.

Back when I was younger I used to play Icewind dale series occasionally.

My favorite rpg probably is KOTOR, I enjoyed its storyline, the fighting didn't get old, and the customization is a HUGEEEEEE plus.

Looking for suggestions, hopefully the game isn't too linear, has a lot of customization, and a good/deep/interesting storyline.

LOTRO and KOTOR are both MMORPGs, so...is that what you're looking for when you say non-linear, customizable, and "new"? Or do you mean just fancy graphics? Or possibly just a non-turn based one? Human language allows such vague statements to be made...

Knights of the old republic is not a MMORPG.

Jade Empire is always worth a second play.

AHHHHHHHHH

tk_saturn is a mind reader O.o
I have played jade empire once, I need to replay that.

and KOTOR is far from a mmorpg...

And I have DA:Origins but I didn't care for it too much, I might give it another go.

If you enjoyed 'Icewind Dale' you should give 'Baldur's Gate' a try. It's pretty much the same thing but achieved a larger fan-base than 'Icewind Dale' did. Also, if you miss 'Icewind Dale', there was an expansion released for it called 'Heart Of Winter', did you ever give that a try?

There was one RPG game released in the late 90's that I enjoyed quite a lot. I don't know if it's too old for? It's called 'Might and Magic VI - The Mandate Of Heaven'.

Have a look at a game-play sample on youtube to see if it's up your alley.

I also enjoyed another game called 'Dark Messiah Of Might And Magic', it's the same universe as the game mentioned previously but a whole new style. I thought it was quite innovative and entertaining.

Dark Messiah looked good, but it plays like Oblivion I thought.

And I have played SMRPG
Damn, I was gonna say Oblivion. Have you tried Fable? There's a Xbox and PC version.

I've played both and although they look similar I find them to be very different. In 'Oblivion' I feel like you're not too much in the combat, but in 'Messiah' it seems more controlled. If you did enjoy Oblivion I highly recommend you try 'Fallout 3'. In my opinion it's much better than 'Oblivion'.

Beat Fallout 3 on my 360 in a matter of hours.
Have also played the side quest and stuff.

Sort of, I liked the aiming system(can't remember its acronym) and the story was way too short, not to mention you had to die when I beat it.

I believe the aiming system was called V.A.T.S.

A lot of people felt that the story was too short. How about the expansions? Did you play any of them? There's a new one coming out, apparently. Something to do with Vegas.

You may wait for Two Worlds II to come out. I just reserved my copy today. Haven't played the first one, but this one is deved by a different developer than the first one and apparently fixes alot wrong with the first one.

EDIT: Just to make this clear, a very knowledgeable GameStop Employee sold me on this game.

There's your problem.
