Hello guys,

I am one of those who purchased 67quid for my DSX cart back to 2006.

In the past three years. it does most of its duty and I am happy to see it still works.

Things happens in last week. I was using the moonshell reading some books.

Suddenly it freezes. I obviously turn the power off and On as usual.

Some how, the Moon shell won't start at all but when I try other games. fine no problem!

So I played mini ninja for 4 hours and it does save....until next day. I found that I dont have the save.

As well as in some other game like ACE Anthony which says" save failed".

The firmware is 1.1.3 beta.

What do you think guys? I guess the problem is somehow the EEPROM of it dies...or fails to write but only readable.

HUMMMm....I shall go to another cart after his 3 years hard work...

I'd say it's died. You are better off with something that uses separate flash storage...

By that I mean the R4 or the Acekard 2i or similar as they use microSD cards to store the files. That way if the storage media dies you just get a new one for your card. MicroSD cards are so cheap now.

Just NEVER NEVER get the R4, its unsupported now and all of them are clones. ( unless you are a R4 Freak like me

) Get an Acekard 2i, and also almost forgot, try reformatting your DSX

Erm, mine's not a clone and everything seems to run fine on it!

Nope.

Standard R4 software (just skinned it and added folders but other than that, untouched).

Agreed - I have a true R4 as well! Am now on YSmenu - who's to say that AceKard won't get axed before dstt updates?

One of the sites that weren't blocked on the school's network was some file uploading sites. I would upload some games, write down the URL and take it to school one day.

It was easy to bypass some of the restrictions, as one of the admins left a registry key in the administrative shares drive, which allowed me to get around the blocking of some sites.
