Fucking game was straight up hot garbage. Wtf was they trying to do at the end. Not to mention all it was was a 100% linear hand holding ff13 reskin with a partial story that made 0% sense. Throw in a few retarded "quests" aka go fetch's that made no difference with obvious "crawl" spaces and slow downs to hide loading and add another hour to gameplay. Did 100% in less than 30h and ended up being one very disappointed gamer. Not even any replay value and i have replayed ffvii multiple times on almost every system its made for. 5 years for that trash whats next for part 2 the walk to junon. Part 3 will be to the golden saucer, 4 to rocket town, 5 to temple of the ancients and the finaly. If they wanted to make part 1 midgar only it should of been a fully open world with a shit ton to do not this mess of hot garbage. Graphics do not make the game. Games need content more than a pretty skin.

People aren't saying it's short, they're saying it was stupid to split it up into multiple parts, regardless of length. And on that point I'd agree. Remakes shouldn't be an excuse to make people buy the game multiple times.

I disagree. Considering that they fleshed out the Midgar section, fleshed out characters like Jessie who your barely got to know in the original. A 40 hour game. And the amount of work and detail they put in this game. The npc's having so much dialogue, and their dialogue changes depending what happens in the story, its a lot of written speech, it creates for good immersive world building.

You can tell Square Enix actually cared about this game, they actually gave fuck and went above and beyond then a simple remake. For that im glad to pay for a multi game release. They may have wanted more money by splitting it, but the actually gave your moneys worth in this first part and I'm more then happy to pay. And this split makes for more story to be fleshed out.

I play on a big TV so pixel density is lower, 4k does make a difference on a bigger TV. But ya 8k would be nice, if graphics cards nowadays can push it at max settings and high frame rates, which I don't think they can.

I like FF7remake. Or rather, I love the bits that are ff7. replaying FF7 and it's pretty linear as well, though less obvious. Some odd choices, and the new characters are completely out of place. But the fleshing out of the ff7 bits were great fun! They did a really great job fleshing things out and trying to make everything work toward the narrative, even the weirder out-of-place parts. That house fight made me so so happy.

But some of the japanese humour doesn't translate very well, and the voice actresses are a bit non-endearing. The "classic" mode isn't really, but it's good enough. But I'm looking forward to the PC release so it can be modded to high-heaven.

I loved the scene where Aerith and Tifa talk about shopping and their plan to drag Cloud with them to make him their pack chocobo.

Your right it was a good opening to a game. It was not a complete game though. Nothing in this game gave me a sense of completion. The ending wasnt even an ending. They call it a remake but it looks more like a reimagining to me. I looked and had almost 40h in the game. All side quests done (had to make myself slow down and do them because theres really no incentive or point other than drawing out gameplay) missed 1 song (probably near the begining) but like i said there is zero incentive to replay this game. I keep calling it a game but its really just the beginning of the game. It should of never been released in parts the way it is. It was basically, lets take out the 2 reactors, try and stop the plate from dropping, and storm shinra building. With a handful of bull shit thrown in to waist time. Was literally ffxiii reskinned.
Edit. I say that but truthfully at least ffxiii was a full game.

Does it? Most games seem to only get a 15 FPS bump to 45, and that's at 1080p. PS5/XBSX at 1440p and 144 FPS is going to be such a night and day difference compared to what the current gen has to offer.
