One of Final Fantasy's better titles is going to be seeing even more exposure. It was announced a little earlier today that the hit Final Fantasy Type-0, which originally released for the Playstation Portable years back, and released in HD for the XBOX One and Playstation 4 this year, will be releasing on the Steam platform in all of its HD glory. Expect more sales, everyone!

Oh boy. The PSP game that was good, on the PSP, that ended up being pretty mediocre when placed on a current home console, is coming to Steam. Uh....hurray?

    This.

I'm still boycotting the console release. Square could've at the very least release the translated PSP game on the PSN so that the 10,56 million Vita owners wont be left out.
At this point it's literally just copy and paste level of effort and since both games are locked at 30 (since the PSP game was hardcoded to 30FPS) it makes literally no difference whenever we play a Vita native game or the original.
Also expect TotalBiscuit go nuts about 30FPS lock :P

I never felt the urge to play this game because the gameplay often felt lifeless/dull, but I do know others who enjoyed the game and those who would love to play it, so it's cool to see it coming to PC.

It might be a decent buy at say, $20 or something, but I would not pay $60 for it, or even $40. They just didn't do enough to make it feel like a console game. It really should have been remade from the ground up for current gen hardware. Instead you end up painfully aware that it came from a limited mobile platform.

Whoever said anything about buying it? Maybe I can grab it through the publisher, directly! :)

    (probably not gonna happen ._.)

But isn't there a a cheat code for 60 fps (on ppsspp at least) for the PSP version though?

    Code:
    _C1 60 FPS
    _L 0x20008868 0x00000000

If it is going to be anything like Final Fantasy XIII-2 PC port, then it will be horrendous.

Not really feeling this. The rather dull gameplay, combined with the bad track record Square Enix has for PC, makes for a very cautious approach.

Bought it for the One. Wasn't impressed... I know I won't be with the Steam version. The game was a god awful port. It even used some of the same textures from the psp just upscaled? Really? This is why ports get a bad name.

And they never had released a localised PSP version, amateur translators made it, then SE sued them, and finally announced and releaced crappy ports...

    Go figure.

Very interesting. One less reason for me to get a PS4 I guess.

Now if Nippon Ichi Software would release their games for PC and Android. I won't need a console if those come out.

I bought this on launch day for the PS4. At first I didn't like it, but then the more I played it the more I got into it. I really enjoyed how many characters there were and how they each played differently. It was fun to try them out and find my favorites. But the camera, dear lord the camera. Any time you move it it's like motion blur to the extreme. It's nauseating.

I have the PS4 version, it's pretty fun. Starts out kinda meh, but it does improve like jumpman17 said.

That being said, I really wish that they'd stay true to their word and release Final Fantasy XIII-3 before teasing other games on Steam. I actually really liked FFXIII-2 and would like some closure.

iirc the code doesn't work, it just makes the number go 60FPS but not the gameplay
This is the real 60FPS hack code
And i'm not even sure if LunaMoo perfected it.
Each animation was supposed to be hacked to run at 60FPS because every animation was bound to 30 FPS.
So yeah, probably because of that SE didn't care about 60 FPS.
