Final Fantasy spinoff War of the Visions: Brave Exvius announced in Japan

Square Enix Japan has announced War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, due to release in the east sometime next year. The official website for the game and teaser trailer are light on information, with the only definitive facts being that it will be a tactical RPG, and mobile developer gumi will assist with creating the game. No platform was announced, however Brave Exvius currently is a Final Fantasy spinoff game for iOS and Android, which may lead to believe that this too will be released on smartphones.

In this war-torn world with sword in hand, for what would you fight—what would you protect. ...The Visions are with the ring…

LOL ...no disrespect to any Belgians, but SE don't care about Belgium because it's tiny - it's total population accounts for a tiny percentage of Europe as a whole... and of that population, how many hardcore SE mobile game fans could there be?

True, but keep in mind that Belgium is the first country (unless I'm mistaken) to actually do something about loot-boxes and gacha systems, and a lot of other countries are starting to follow suit. Wouldn't it make sense then that either...

1: Belgium back-pedals on the whole thing and declares that there aren't any issues regarding their gambling laws. If they're so strict that they're taking the first stand on things and then backpedal, wouldn't that send a message to the other countries that are just starting to look into things?

2: Belgium gets an insanely-popular game that proves that loot-box mechanics aren't needed at all, sending a message to the other countries and possibly expedites the whole process. Square has their proverbial foot in the door right off the bat, while all of the other game companies are scrambling to catch up and having to alter all of their existing systems to stay relevant.

Belgium (rightly) won't back pedal on the legalities of gambling/loot boxes - especially not for a niché game from Squenix (EA, Activision, and Ubisoft didn't make them flinch... why should Square?)
Tiny or not, Belgium is correct to make a stand against lootboxes, and they are influencing other governments... they're tiny enough to warrant not getting their own builds of games, but they're big enough to carry weight within the European community as a whole; if the whole of Europe has to have builds of games that have gambling mechanics removed (given how game publishing seems to currently be going in terms of censorship and global releases - see the recent fuss around Rainbow Six's censorship) then it's likely that it will spell the end for loot boxes worldwide.

I liked Brave Exvius for a bit, until it became super P2W, and the story seemed to suffer in waiting for the sake of collabs for $$$ on banners. Hopefully this new one is more like Tactics and has an amazing story.
