In its quest to become the ultimate file upload site and replace Megaupload in the heart of the general public (*cough*), Filetrip has received another major update. If you didn't read the former threads make sure to catch up on the September updates (thread 1, thread 2). Here is the list of most recent changes.

Multi-file upload: you may now select more than one file to be upload at a time. The uploader has been completely replaced.
Drag and drop upload: drag and drop files over the upload area to start uploading files. This should work in all browsers except Internet Explorer (damn you).
Upload files via FTP: if you prefer uploading file via FTP, you can follow this simple guide to connect to your account.
Galleries: you may now create photo/video/audio galleries. Check out this demo gallery, we've set up an amazing ajax script that makes gallery browsing better than ever.
Folders: you can now share entire folders without having to give away individual links. Here is the folder listing for the above gallery.
    • The FAQ page has been rewritten completely as well as other text-based pages of the site.
    • Several bugs have been fixed, including the accents/special characters bug.

If you have any other ideas or suggestions please make sure to comment this thread. We are doing our best to make Filetrip the best upload site there is!

Additionally, we are working on an actual mobile version of Filetrip (native apps for mobile devices). It will come out with basic functionality at first, but will at least allow users to play audio files, watch uploaded videos and photos as well as other documents. The iOS version will be released first.

filetrip has so many features but it seems that few outside of our hobby circle know about it.

Wow, Filetrip is now undoubtedly the best file sharing site on the internet. Given how awesome it is, it's only a matter of time before it REALLY catches on (to people outside the temp).

    Very good update!

Multi-file upload, Drag and drop and FTP are great :D
Thank you for the time you've spent to add these features.

There's also "Upload without an account" on filetrip news but not listed in your first post.
it was added in a previous site update?

As a suggestion, if possible, I would like a better virtual folder management.
currently you can only create one folder level.
It would be great if you could make subfolders, and move them and the files easily from one to another folder.

    problem/not a feature?
there no way to edit the setting "show your username for this file".

cant you lose those damn iLivid ads for the gba sponsor ads ? there just annoying and remind me of dodgy google search d/l sites .

sign in with gbatemp info .. ??

Without knowing fully , but could i use filetrip similarly to say dropbox , where i can share private files/folders ?? via a link ?

The ads are what keep the site alive really, if you can't stand them just use Adblock... even though that's no good for the site.

Sign in with GBAtemp info: doable, but I don't think it would be used by a lot of people at this point. People who really want to use Filetrip already got an account... Besides creating a FT account is easy. Or just use Facebook...

Yes, you can use Filetrip similarly to dropbox. You can share private files and folders by giving people the links. Example: http://filetrip.net/folder?FoWxh03xwO just a bunch of images I uploaded. I am also working on a grid view with icons/image thumbnails.

no, if you give the link to a file/folder/gallery to anyone, they can see it anonymously, without an account.
so you can share with anyone really.

this is also one of the reasons I designed this.
I have tons of photos to share and I can't do that anywhere. I had picasa but I reached the upload limit.

Wondering is it possible to download a folder or the contents of a folder rather than a per file approach ?

unfortunately, none of the browsers support that (only some beta/experimental builds of Chrome)
so it won't be possible until newer versions of web browsers... not sure they even plan to add support for that.

if you wanna upload a whole folder just Ctrl+A to select all the files in it :)
