So I assumed the FF3 for DS would be a remake of FF3 I knew so well on SNES. You know, the one with Kefka, Figaro castle, Shadow, and that little blue haired slut with the slave collar

But I just read in Play magazine that this was a remake of the Japanese FF3 for NES/famicom that was never released in the US.

I thought I would be able to play the 3D/polygonal version of FF3 (actually FF6, I just learned), but on the other hand it's cool that this is new to me.

Was anyone else confused by this or am I the lone dumbass?

It's only you, dude. They have been billing this as the remake of the "only FF game never to be released stateside before".

Being the uber-1337 gamer that I am, I've already played the translated version of this game using an emulator.

For those of you who don't know, It uses the same job system from ff5; and for an NES FF, it's pretty snazzy.

Haha sorry but that combat looks wicked dumb. Those "10 hit" combos look like the party members are having seizures, and they take much too much time to attack.

I hope it isn't like that normally and the dude had a special item on his guys or something... I don't want to watch that over and over.

All the earlier FF games were like that though :|

What? I don't recall any of that. The most hits I've ever seen anyone do in the earlier games was Edge in FF2(US) he had the double attack thing, 2 slices per hand, even then it looked ok.

Watch the video again, they are doing quick, gross little hand gestures, 10 times! It just looks bad to me. :\

FF1 is like that, FF2 is like that, FF3 is like that (it seems), FF4 isn't like that

(yaaay)
FF4 is like 2 attacks which each char attacking... except Edge, which is 4

and yeah, they might have some spasm... but that overworld theme just makes me warm inside
smile.gif
tho it could've been made with even more feeling
wink.gif

I wish I was the one who handled the rearrange of that theme

Maybe if you had played FF1-FF3 you would understand...

^^ That list isn't complete by any means (PC versions of 7 & 8 missing as well)

But it is a nice starter, that's why you can go to Gamefaqs and get a complete list.

Unless that's too simple for some people.

I have though... lol. No one attacks 10 times that fast in any FF game.
