So what is it? you favourite post-apocalyptic movie, book, radio show, game or whatever?

I would say my favourite book is Day of the Triffids. Game would be Dead Rising. But I have yet to discover a really good post-apoc movie. RE is ok I suppose.

    Well cmon, let's hear yours.

And I love Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. I tend to like post apocalyptic stuff anyway. Terminator in its post apocalyptic stage isn't bad... And the WH40k background story is good, too.

Film: Tough one, if I can not say Dune (the SciFi channel versions, David Lynch version is passable for me at best) then I am going with Children of Men.

    Book: Roadside picnic.

Game: Stalker (based on Roadside picnic, were I to be a tart the film would have also been in the film slot).

I suppose technically the last two are not post apocalypse in as much as they deal with a small area. So perhaps Titan A.E. or other "post earth" anime/films/whatever or even Obitaemyy ostrov/The Inhabited Island for films.
Books, I would go with the earlier stuff for some reason (one of the few occasions that I do), so the scarlet plague is my choice, nicely it is out of copyright:

Game, I am sticking with Stalker but some of the 16 bit era RPGs and the like are good too.

My main trouble with this sort of thing is how do I classify things; post war is usually a fairly good approximation, a lot of scifi deals with the sort of situations faced in post apocalypse, dystopia films and some horror is not far off and then we also have the usual assumptions/logic used to get there (virus, war, ninjas, zombies, aliens, robots.....) Add in fantasy (swords and sorcery) and again things can happen.
