Best film of 2005 was, hands down, Children Of Men. Nothing was better, though a few were close. While The Departed was a fine film, and Scorsese deserved the Oscar for Direction, Children Of Men was the Best Picture. It was flawlessly filmed and acted, with a strong screenplay, and unbelievable cinematography.

Name it, I've seen it, and here's a brief list of my favorites:

Godfather
A Clockwork Orange
Dr. Strangelove
Metropolis (silent film)
Nosferatu
LOTR
Pan's Labyrinth
Amorres Perros
Audition
Cache

Check out my blog (link in sig) for my movie reviews if you care ...

BTW, Grave Of The Fireflies was the first movie to make me cry also, and only one of two to actually get me to feel more than just sad. Book Of Stars was the other one.

Tremors Movies

If you're talking about the giant snappin' worms...
.. a good friend of mine helped work the armature & pneumatics on the worms. He said they had a real blast screwin' around with 'em. I only saw the first one, but it was a fun movie!

also..

I just wanted to add Barton Fink to the list, my favorite movie probably.

and, even if they were previously mentioned:
Illusionist, Paul Giamatti was brilliant!
Old Boy
Audition
Dark City
Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back
Starship Troopers, never tire of it.
Nosferatu, the first one.
Art School Confidential
After Hours
The Aristocrats
Carnival of Souls
Donnie Darko
The Iron Giant
Picnic at Hanging Rock
The Last Wave
Sin City
Spirited Away
12 Monkeys
American History X
Amadeus
Chinese Ghost Story
Iron Monkey
Clue

ok I'll stop now, I could go on and on...

Lately I quite liked the Warrior King (probably one of the best martial arts films I have seen in a long time, in my opinion at least up there with once upon a time in China) and will +1 to costello (anyone trying to mess with the DVD bear in mind it likely has structure protection so update your software).
As for grave of the fireflies it was the first film in a while that I got so bored that I turned it off (normally I am the kind of person that sits and watches bad horror films instead of getting some much needed sleep).

As for my all time favourite there is a massive list but transformers the movie would probably be it.

Dark City is one of my all time favorites

Momento - Awesome movie if you have never seen it. You watch it from the end to the beginning =D

Fight Club - Something new every time I see it
