My favorite has to be Kingdom Hearts 1.
Yeah I know, it's a big name title, but it really was the game I played the most on the PS2. The game had a lot of life, they really took the time to add the Disney charm to it, and the combat system was very challenging. The story wasn't that complicated and the dark moments didn't mix in too badly with the happier ones. It was a great adventure.

    It's a tie between MGS2 & 3 for me. I loved both.

I probably spent the most hours on Gran Turismo 3.... I still have my game save with millions of dollars and at least 50% of the cars all maxed out (This is a legit save no hacks involved...)

I love Dragon Quest VIII, completed the entire game at least 2 times. I also loved Kings Field IV The Ancient City, so hard but just so good.

Katamari 1 and 2 are both phenomenal games that I couldn't stop playing until I completed them.

Twisted Metal Black, it's just so awesome you must play this game!!!!

Tekken Tag Tournament, if you have not played this game.... turn in your gamer card at the door on your way out!!!!

I could go on all day about the PS2 library and write a book on games that should be experienced before a gamer dies, but the ones in this post are the best of the best in my mind.

Kaidou Battle 2: Chain Reaction... which was only released in Japan and EU!!! The sequel was released in the US, but it's kind-of garbage (they screwed up the fun physics engine). Tokyo Xtreme Racer 0 is a decent alternative, though I'd recommend using a pad without pressure sensitive buttons (either 3rd party or use a wheel w/pedals).

For games that were released over here, my absolute favorite is Urban Reign!! This is the undisputed king of cult classics. If you enjoy brawlers (especially games like Def Jam) or martial arts movies, you will love this game. The difficulty curve is also pretty high.. fans of Ninja Gaiden and God Hand will be right at home.

NiGHTS Into Dreams, but you'll need a modded, or Japanese, machine to play it.
Sega Rally too, but the same restrictions reply.

So far that title goes to rogue galaxy. It's a nice, more laid back action rpg. I would have said radiata stories but as awesome as that game is, t takes more effort to complete.

Jesus Christ that was like 10 years ago man...
I don't even remember what I played last week

The only PS2 game I really remember playing was Silent Hill 2 because I rented it the day it came out and played it non-stop for a week...

    Castlevania: Curse of Darkness
Pokemon aspects with the Innocent Devil pet system (also with secretz)
Steal items from a large bestiary of monsters to make powerful weapons (and secretz) with the game's crafting system. (You can also steal from bosses which can be challenging as fuck but totally addictive, it leaves you feeling accomplished, especially in the battle with Death.)You only have specific windows of oppty. to steal items from enemies.
3rd person done right for a Castlevania game.
    It's motherfucking Castlevania.

That's a tough one, the PS2 had a great library of games.
For me it'd be between Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy X, or Devil May Cry 3. I played al 3 of those for so many hours and none of that time ever felt wasted.

    That's just wrong :wtf:

I've met Matal Grill. Great guy. He was in the Bar-B-Que business.
You know, I have the Metal Gear Solid Essentials collection on the PS2. And I have MGS4... I have yet to touch one of those games.

I think it's really a love it or hate it kind of series. If the series sounds good to you, you'll probably enjoy it. I've never met someone who said, I kind of like the Metal Gear Solid series.
