Its kinda mainstream but kinda not: Paper Mario.
Not many people have played it, but if you haven't, do. An epic game.

despite being the "old" console on the block, my first year in college the N64 was a popular party system, with most people playing Smash Bros heavily.

But in spite of that, my better friends instead spent hours a day also playing Goemon. And it was good. Still remember when one friend finally beat it. We moved slow because we wanted 100% completion the first time around.

For a minute he was pissed because the ending movie starts making it look like one of those "go back to the beginning and start all over!" ends.

The word mainstream is too vague.

I also really liked Gauntlet Legends. I had a lot of fun playing it with friends and cousins.

Earth Worm Jim, freaking loved that cartoon when I was little to the game was really great to. At least till you got to a boss than it did a 360 and ruined the game.
Could never beat the 2nd boss ended up trading in the game at game stop. [IMG]

*Update* Im think conker might be border line main stream....

Both Mystical Ninjas. I can't give them enough praise. From the music to the humour and everything in between.

Brilliant games. Not for everyone though...

+1 Gauntlet Legends was great, I first played it last summer, and I loved it! A great non-mainstream N64 title!
