So 2009 was (probably) the largest homebrew bang yet.

We got BootMii (8 revisions now, is it?), USB Loaders, enhanced cIOSes, MPlayer updates, tons of game hacks, and overall a lot of fun stemmed from this year in the homebrew scene.

What was your favorite/what do you use the most?

Out of 'em all, I'd have to say BootMii looks the greatest and was definitely the "major" leap forward this year as I do recall that it itself can allow developers to control the Wii. I'd say USB Loaders but I believe those to be a stem of the Backup Launcher and thus should be regarded as such.

So, what was your favorite app (released or unreleased) of this year, and what do you want to see in the coming year? (SD Card emulator for the entire Wii for me- I mean, we can do everything off the SD Card now, why stay with the NAND for emulation save for actually being able to save to it?)

    Go.

Well, MPlayerCE and BootMii for me.

The first one has made great advancements in the last year, and the second one is just awesome, when installed to Boot2 [IMG]

I think DopIOS is one of the most powerfull Homebrews ever released.
And of course Bootmii as Boot2.

Geexbox for me, just awesome media playback on my Wii.
    Love it.
It isn't in the list though, so I voted for MPlayer and other media players.

I think that my favorite moment of 2009 was when Nintendo was owned by the wii hacking scene after releasing 4.2. If my memory serves me correctly, all of the anti-homebrew/piracy measures were defeated in a few days [IMG]

As for my favorite developments of this year, it would have to be:

    1. USB loader (and the superior mods of this program that followed, like config USB loader and wiiflow)
    2. GC Backup loader
    3. Bootmii

i voted bootmii. but really i think the best accomplishment is the combination of mini and bootmii. while it is not yet as function packed as IOSes, mini is still off to a great start. it is mini that bootmii uses to run and offer such great brick protection. it also opens the doors for a person to code whatever they want and run on ARM and PPC and upload elfs to either one during runtime. also SNEEK2, which even is beta stages as amazing, is made possible by bootmii.

Bootmii, USB Loader GX, and Dop-IOS MOD.

Bootmii will always be the best anti-brick (well, for wiis that can use it). USB Loader GX made me even lazier, not having to get up to put discs in.

DOP-IOS MOD...well, lets say it beats NUS Downloader+Wad Manager.
