    Playing Pokemon Platinum. I started the game off with Turtwig, but gonna give myself a challenge by using no starters.

    I have other Pokemon and have been wondering if there was a fast way to make the happiness increase.

    Any special items to hold, certain way to treat them.

    I know you can feed them Rare Candies....

    Just Win Battles.

    Win = Happiness +!
    Lose = Happiness -!

    Also, you can take it to the resort area. Let it have a massage! [IMG]

    Pokesav, AR, Soothe Bell, massages and the like, don't let it faint/use herbs on it, keep it in your party.
    Edit: Luxury Balls, walk around, healing, EV berries, vitamins, level up

    Giving it items like Zinc, and HP UP also work, and if its a pokemon you haven't caught yet you might want to consider catching it in a Luxury Ball.

    possibly takes the longest, but at full health, repeatedly use items like potions on it

    Other than winning and giving items such as soothe bell, take your pokemon to Veilstone city and get a massage or if you are a member of the ribbon syndicate get a better massage there.

    Do all of this:
    1. Catch it in a Luxury Ball. This (iirc) adds +1 to +5 to all happiness reactions. Also, giving it a Soothe Bell (you get it from the girl you guide through Eterna Forest) raises each reaction by +1. (each raises happiness by X assumes you have it in a Luxury Ball and its holding a Soothe Bell)
    2. Use the berries that lower EV (Pomeg, Kelpsy, Qualot, Hondew, Grepa, Tamato), with a Luxury Ball this raises happiness by 7 per berry. (if you just caught it it has no EVs, and you can't go negative)
    3. After you've used all but 1 of each berry (to plant later), use vitamins, this also raises by 7.
    4. Train it. Each level is +7 in a Luxury Ball.
    5. There is a tile inside the Fuego Ironworks that moves you quite a few steps one way, just put a weight on your D-Pad in the opposite direction and after awhile (every 256 steps is 3 points) happiness will go up. (Do this as a last resort because it takes forever)

    Also, imo none of the starters in this gen are good at all.

    Use the bike and run around for a couple of hours. Should increase.
