For all the reasons some people have stated here (half of Famitsu's 40/40 scores happened in the past generation).
It's a 9,5 at the moment, but with texture mods (which are already widely available now) and some extra content mods/UI changing mods, it'll be even better.

It may be more compact and controlled, but I didn't think (at least some) Zledas are linear.

It is kinda funny that the Zelda gamespot review can be alter for this game or any other game for that matter.
Reviews are starting to bash games for being there games regardless of what it changes overall.

As in, bash Zelda for being Zelda.

Skyrim is not a 40/40 game I give it a 39/40.

That's not how their rating system works. It's a total of 4 peoples' grades out of 10. So you pretty much separated yourself into 4 and made one of them give the game a 9/10.

Anyways, this would've been a huge accomplishment if it weren't true that they've been going easy on Western games recently. From what I recall, Famitsu is (or at least used to be) a really harsh reviewer.

Perfect in a sense that it's worth a 10/10. There isn't much I would add to it, and most of the bugs and glitches are gone. Sure improvements could be made, but the vast majority of the game is seamless.

An actually decent storytelling experience instead of relying on just side missions, exploration, lore, and world building? You are Dohvakiin, the chosen one. Now do these repetitive fetch quests and save the world by

. SO ORIGINAL, AUTOMATICALLY BETTER THAN EVERYTHING ELSE. And people say the East is creatively bankrupt.

Oh, and how about beta testing before releasing the game? You know, to iron out some bugs and glitches that Bugthesda games always suffer from. Still getting weird glitches over here. Fought an invisible dragon, hah. The general gameplay could be vastly improved too. As it is, it's incredibly simple and mindlessly boring. I don't need FAST PACED NONSTOP ACTION SWORD BATTLES, but something with more depth and options in actual combat. They can learn a thing or two from Dark Souls.

They could also fix up the awkward animations, and improve some of the textures, but that's why mods are there for I guess.

Dead Island is horrible, I guess if you enjoy intense head bobble and zombies that get killed in one hit, then the game is fun.

We played different games I reckon, no way did the zombies die with one hit. Head bobble? What was that on the console version or the unpatched Pc one?

Its not been harsh for years now, seems like they slap a high score for most big named publishers who have lots of money.

According to Valwin's logic a game can never get the max score. If you're a reviewer and you like the game so much that you'd give it a 10/10 then, according to Valwin, you're a fanboy. In which case you obviously can't see ANY flaws in the game making your review void.
