After confirming that a new title was in development as of last August, the latest Ys game has been officially revealed as Ys IX: Monstrum Nox. Additionally, story information and gameplay elements have been lightly detailed on the Japanese website. The game is set for a 2019 release in Japan as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Ys IX's narrative will focus on creatures who can wield supernatural powers, called Monstrum, which will also tie into the gameplay by allowing for players to also use these abilities in order to explore the world. As this was announced by Falcom JP, no English translation has been confirmed at the time of reveal, though XSEED and NIS America have localized every modern entry within the series.

Up until Ys ζ, the series was epic, possibly one of the best, but this doesn't sound too promising, never like concepts like "use the powers of monsters to explore the world", that's just never done right, but I guess we'll wait and see... I THINK they have special agreement that all their project are temp exclusive to $ony's console, they will obviously release it on pc too, after the ps4 one ofc.

Honestly Famicom should try new things like overhaul Ys' combat system and a new improved graphic engine...

Just as long as it's better than the Fuckery of Dana. I'm just trying to remind myself than Kefin and Napishtim were meh, and then the series got back on track. I guess mediocre Ys is still better than most games.
And please, for the love of god, can we let someone who isn't NISA translate this? Maybe Aksys can get a turn. The only Archaeozoic Big Hole I should ever hear about is the one I take shits out of.

Eh. Ports aren't a bad thing, and this IS a new entry. .. The Switch seeing so many ports is actually a good thing, considering the abysmal failure that was the Wii U... It's seeing a success, whether the haters want to admit or not.

but NISA screwed it up and promised Falcom they gonna port to PS4 in the same time with the Vita, then port it all to the west with Switch and PC version.

So this goes to saying what I stated, that we won't see this game localized. Pass.
