Recently I followed a step by step guide on how to update the Switch's firmware alongside atmosphere in order to install some recent game updates.
I used AIO to download some files but otherwise downloaded the latest (as of Oct 7th, 2024) atmosphere and fusee from github.
First it threw an error that some forum users said was a mismatch between fusee and atmosphere, and now it throws this error.
One user claimed to have fixed it by formatting their SDcard to fat32 but this hasn't worked for me.
I apparently downloaded the files for the Switch's latest firmware via AIO but I didn't install them inmediately since I needed to have the latest atmosphere too for them to work by following the guide step by step; I even made some nand backups or something because the guide asked me to do it.
The Switch itself isn't bricked or anything, it just doesn't boot to atmosphere/CFW anymore. Doesn't kill me and I'm not in any hurry, but it was my main machine because of mods and some games I have on steam but I can't play because my PC is just too old.
One thing I did, that was not in any guide but instead was in a post here, was "delete" the atmosphere's content folder. What I really did was backup its contents on my PC and deleted it from the SDcard. The user said this was an important step, among other things like getting new sigpatches and such.
I haven't been able to put it back in because I do not have an SD card reader, I did that via the HB app that connects the console via USB to my PC. So if anything, that could be my only issue, no?
Since it'll take forever to move those files from my desktop to my laptop, I'll be here in case it's not that, seeing how no other fixes mentioned worked for me so far.
EDIT: After much trial and error, I found a solution that worked for me. Regardless of SDcard format. Double and triple check all of the locations for all of the .bin files you need to update atmosphere. I had all the files I needed from the github download of atmosphere and the fusee.bin, but some other files were not copying to the SD card's subfolders/subdirectories. Once I got these files (ones found in the switch and payloads folders) the console booted and I'm able to use mods again. Dunno if anyone will find this useful. I do have to add I am not a very smart person and I struggle with tech, so maybe this wouldn't be much of an issue for more experience folks.
