Over the years, Soul Calibur has become known for its famous (and infamous) cross overs. From Link to Darth Vadar, Soul Calibur has had a tradition since Soul Calibur II to have some cameos. For the most recent installment, Soul Calibur V, it seems like Ubisoft's own master assassin, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, may have the spotlight.

A supposedly leaked image (as seen above) shows Ezio on the character selection screen. Anything beyond that is speculation, but as any Assassin's Creed player knows, odds are you'll be doing a lot of countering with the hidden blade.

Ezio marks some interesting third party collaboration. Tekken crossovers into the series were owned by Namco while other popular crossovers were either from the console's first party selection (Link) or from non-standard video game franchises (Star Wars with Darth Vadar, Yoda, and the Apprentice, and Spawn from Image Comics). Ezio can be seen as the first major third party collaboration, as he is exclusive to Ubisoft.

Who do you think could be in Soul Calibur V? Will it be between Bandai Namco and Ubisoft or can it be even larger?

Smallest blade in Soul Calibur history.

Edit: There will most likely be a 360/PS3 exclusive with Ezio/Altair.

He'll probably use different weapons too. Think of Link in SCII, who had bombs, the bow, boomerang, and sword/shield. He'll probably use the hidden blade, sword, pistol, etc.

I...didn't even know Soul Calibur 5 was going to exist.
Awesome. Bout time a real fighting game came out, again.

Ezio fits quite nicely if this is true.

I'm not really a fan of the Soul Calibur series but I wouldn't be surprised if Ezio came to the series. I think he'd fit quite nicely.

This sounds pretty cool. I'm curious as to how they'll use his acrobatics in this type of combat, and would counters be too broken?

Not EXAAACCCCTLLLLYYY true.... if you consider heihachi only used hand guards. Not blades per say, but still smaller than Ezio.

That would actually be kind of cool to see, and he would certainly fit in better than the Star Wars characters from SCIV.

I just hope to God he isn't as unbalanced as they were, especially the stupid Apprentice.

Ubisoft's own TMNT Smash-Up arleady did that idea. It induced nerdrage harder than Star Wars in SC4... nerdrage that was immediately extinguished by Turtles Forever not lnog after, heh.

    A) It's only coming out for the 360 and PS3. That may change in the future, but we're going to have to work under that assumption for now.

    B) Whoever gets Desmond over Altair or Ezio is getting ripped off.

The pretty well presented future of the series, panned out by Assassin's Creed II's ending (with the exception of Brotherhood's ending throwing a wrench in the works), and the cave exploration bit as Desmond leads me to believe he's supposed to (and is already starting to) become the ultimate Assassin.
