Hacking EZF III OS Update problems

I just received an EZF III 2GB. Right when I start EZManager 2.22, it tells me an updated OS is available. I say "OK" and the meter just sits there. The program isn't frozen as I'm able to navigate around it. I've also tried to format the card. When it get's to 98%, it just sits there. I let it sit there for about an hour. Does it take longer than this? Or am I doing something wrong. I'm just trying to use this for GBA games ONLY. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
