    EZ4 update as well.
The EZTeam sent GBAtemp an EZ5+ to review which arrived about lunchtime today.

While it is essentially just an updated EZ5 with SDHC there is going to be a full review as a fair bit of time (and version numbers) has passed since the original review.
The review is in progress (mainly some homebrew left to test) and stands presently at about 4600 words. More on the review in the post below.

Initial impressions are good as expected for a veteran of the GBA and DS flash cart scene such as EZFlash.
The cart itself is well made and fits nicely in the DS slot (even in the old busted DS that lacks a spring used in the newsposts), for those concerned about such things the chips can be felt but are not visible and do not rub inside the DS slot.
The microSD slot is side mounted this time as well and does not have a spring. The fit is good (no tweezers needed although a fingernail is helpful) and the connections for both microSD and DS are good.
Software, compatibility and the like is a matter for the review but thus far nothing to hold it back when compared to the competition has appeared.

In other news the EZ4 got a patch update fixing Trauma Center 2, TopSpin 3 and Nanashi no game (2401 - Disgaea was fixed in an update the previous week)

Hey man, I dunno if you want to include the performance tests...just a little teaser about everything.
Not good to spoil the meat [IMG]

    Edit.
I was hesitant as well, I just wanted to see if there was anything people wanted tested and to spare the "on the list alreay" so I figured I would add it in there. Nothing is given away though and there is a lot more than that in the review so far.

Edit 2, does that code not still load the massive image (filesize massive). Having occasionally done gbatemp on dial up I try to avoid such situations.
    Original post.
First impressions/cart build quality. From the box to your DS.
    Compatibility with commercial roms.
    Extra features.
    Download play.
    Compatibility with homebrew.
    Compatibility with hacked roms.
The user interface of the cart.
    The community/support.
    expansion packs.
Owing to the lack of an SDHC card that test is being saved for an update.

    Roms being tested are
Castlevania POR and original Castlevania (cart speed tests)
Megaman 5 (video sequences sometimes slow)

    The recent Hulk title.

Daigasso Band Brothers DX (sequel). The 8 megabit saves are a problem for some carts.

Pokemon Dash (historically a problem rom).

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (had a timer in that detected most flash carts/rom alterations at the time of release).

Download station 1. This (and other download stations) have been known to cause problems with carts in the past.

Last 20 releases (most likely to be unpatched/not to work).
    Warning: Spoilers inside!

Trauma Center 2 and nanashi no game are also being considered.

Homebrew (just a small selection, say if you have any problem homebrew)
    DSVideo
DSOrganize. A sort of PDA application for the DS.
CLIRC (very feature rich irc application)
    pocket physics.
Rudolph's DS wifi dumping tool (there also exists a 3 in 1 and general GBA slot DLDI tool)
DSHobro. A streaming web browser using your PC to render the web page.
    Meteora.
    Quake and Quake 2.
    Doom (all versions).
    Lemmings DS
    Puzzlemaniak.
Flight from the dark. A "port" of the pen and paper Lone Wolf series of books.
games built with palib. These occasionally can have problems owing to the file system used (if not DLDI).
    LMP-ng.
    Sakura DLDI hack.
    tuna-vids. (early stage avi/xvid player).
    jenesisDS. Megadrive/genesis emulator.
    snemulDS. SNES emulator.
    nesDS. NES emulator (DLDI version).
Scummvmds. Port of SCUMMVM to the DS, supports old lucasarts games amongst other things.

    ----------------

Download play titles are just going to be the popular games (tetris, worms, advance wars, mario kart, puzzle games) unless anyone requests anything else.

Hacked titles are the popular hacks and the usual causes of non working hacks (binary size altering and file system issues).

The expendable stylus is great but the ezflash logo wears of after a couple of hours of use.

i have the stylus from the ezflash 5 and while it is nice, it also scratched up my ds very quickly. the material of the clear tip causes a lot of friction.

I forgot to mention that the tip is made of very hard plastic, and playing the likes of New International Track & Field with it, will more than likely scratch up your touch screen in a bad way.

    No Award...

Today was just supposed to be testing but it turned out to be just playing (although it all got done) *shakes fist at people who made POWDER so good.

I should have the review up Saturday lunchtime, it is just the testing info to add in and conclusion.

This being said if anyone has an requests there is still time.

maybe also test dslinux? it's pretty useless in general, but it uses libfat and other various hardware in a different way from most homebrew, so a good compatibility test.
