Basically, just connect a led + resistor* between the 2nd and 3rd pin of the microSD slot from the bottom (be careful to only work on the non-elevated base of the pins, and not to melt the sides of the socket while maneuvering the iron which you'll probably do since getting wires to stick there is a pain)

I recommend 32 awg wires (aka what 80 pin ide cable is made of)

* on one hand, a green led (about 2.2 V according to led.linear1.wiz) with 100 ohms is already fairly dim; on the other, it will be somewhat illuminated all the time and no need to further increase power usage, rite?

Nice idea... if it works, maybe the EZ-Flash team should consider a revision of their product to incorperate an SD activity LED to tackle that apparently persistent save corruption problem!

does the ezflash omega have save issues? I bought one about a month ago (still waiting for it to arrive). it was either that or the everdrive, which is just out of my budget.

what exactly is the problem with saves? I have several saves and games (dumped my entire collection on the ds), which btw, I plan to use it on the ds.

nm. I looked it up. how could something with save problems actually be better than another product (everdrive)? aside from the price, does the everdrive have a lot of problems or something?

Do people usually complain when they lose the last photos if they remove their digital camera's battery while the light is on? Because that would be exactly what's happening here... Except there's no light out of the factory

This.

And aside from the aesthetics, I see no use for the LED. (might look neat though)

I'd second a hq picture. I think I'd help people.

That's quite genius. I am thinking about doing this, I do wonder if this could cause any issues as we are essentially shorting DATA0 to ground...
I do still have a SML-LXR85IC-TR lying around somewhere, I should be able to put that in there. allthough, that is only rated for 2V, that would probably get fried by the voltage...
