    You can run Mother 3 and pokemon fine if patched correctly. Whoever wrote the review most likely had unpatched versions running in NOR, which default save types don't work with mother 3. Pokemon on the other hand, he probably patched it with the wrong patcher and got a 1M error. All of that is a user error and not that of the 3in1.

    I'm pretty sure the real time clock and the events related to that will not work in the Pokemon games when using a 3-in-1, but as the other posters mentioned saving should be fine, assuming proper patching when required. The name of the app I used escapes me at the moment, but it may be gbATA or something similar. When a game ROM is loaded, it can tell whether or not patching is required. You shouldn't have to become too familiar with the myriad of savetypes GBA uses when using that app.
