I've recently played Sonic Rush and I want to extract the music from it.

I'm know my way on ripping music through Wii/ DS/ X360 dumps via .brstm, .adx etc. so I know most of what I'm doing but when I look through the rom All I see are midi, bank, sseq and probably other files I can't remember. There was only two streams I found which were the ending credits.

I want to rip all the music from the sound test, so how would I get this to wav? Btw I'm using Crystal Tile 2 and the latest VGMStream plugin with Winamp...

Can anyone help me?

The DS does have some programs use ADX/AHX type but the vast majority use the SDAT sound format (a spec although these days it is somewhat outdated: http://kiwi.ds.googlepages.com/sdat.html )
Do note some of these methods are not so good (SSEQ and midi are similar but not similar enough to get perfect reproduction)- a loopback type arrangement from an emulator will probably be better (you can merge it with audio changing hacks like http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=122534 to make rare songs play as and when you need them and drop channels with SFX when you only want backing music and the like) but there are easier ways

VGMStream is largely based around these tools/made by many of the same people/specs so if you just want something to parse and extract the SDAT file you might want to go back to some of the earlier tools like sseq2midi and the like or just use the raw/extract mode of ndssndext below, I do not use it myself so I am unable to go into specifics here.

Crystaltile2 does have sound support but it is not the best. Open the rom, click the little DS icon on the right hand side of the toolbar, navigate to the SDAT file and right click it, there should be an option in there to bring up a new menu with all the SDAT file contains within it. After that it is time to fiddle with things.

Back on topic three programs
1) NDSSNDEXT

Original site was http://nintendon.s6.xrea.com/ but it has long been gone from there.
2)VGMTrans

Newer version some people like more http://hcs64.com/files/VGMTrans_src_and_bin_9_29_09.zip
3) console tool (not sure if presently released version is any good but keep an eye on it).
