Hacking extracting psarc files

as the title suggests, I'm trying to extract psarc files to mod a particular game but I can't manage to get a hold of these psarc files and how to extract them, I've tried with total commander after successfully installing the psarc plugin but it shows me this error (picture bellow), the psarc tool from ps3tools pack doesnt work either, tried two other psarc scripts (.exe cmd files) but they open and close (crashes) I've been trying for the last 3 days and can't figure out how, I'm starting to think the problem is my pc somehow.

There's a psarc app I've forgotten the name of that worked for me. A psarc is a compressed folder, so you'll have a folder by the same name and I think a txt file to recompile it. I've seen it with the ps3 and games like the last of us or uncharted.

You must remove PFS before doing anything.

didn't even think of that. the only way I know of to do that is a maidump. there may be another way, but I don't know of it.

thanks, I figured there was probably a way I wasn't aware of (only knew about maidumps as the pfs folder is removed entirely with them).

I think the only mai dump I'm using is I am Setsuna, for its translation patch. I did buy the game on the switch though, an official translation.
