Hardware External enclosure with 3.5" drives

Basically, I have a few 3.5" SATA HDDs lying around and was planning to buy a cheap ass external enclosure and I was wondering if it will be compatibly with the Wii U.

I don't own the console (yet) so I can't try it. I do have a Wii and it would be just great for it to be compatible with it too.

According to this the older model works, so theorically the new one should work too (although it uses USB 3.0, but it's retrocompatible, so...)http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Devices_Compatibility_List#Enclosures

I know they are the same model, but as you see mine is older, so yours should work!
