Hi, my DSL battery doesn't seem to last all that long.

what are the options for beefing it up, or keeping it charged while traveling?

Want it to last those long flights, and times hostels wont have a place for me to charge it up.

thanks in advance.

Keep the light on the lowest, and the sound off. But if you do this and the batteries STILL run out, i advise you to get a new battery. I think that they are pretty cheap.

Try not to keep turning the DS on and off. That uses a chunk of the battery.

EDIT: then again, you shouldn't sleep mode either - since sleep mode with flash cards usually drains more battery than it should.

It's true that sleep mode does use more battery on a flash cart than with a normal game, but it still saves more energy than if you just kept it on. I'm not sure of this, but i'm pretty sure that sleep mode with a flash cart still uses less energy than not using sleep mode.

You could look for another battery on ebay. Don't think they are really expensive. Some even last longer than the original DS lite battery.

I notice with the DS even the gba, you can only recharge those batteries so many times that they begin to slowly lose their charge. Meaning that when you first get a ds they last like 7 plus hours or so. I had my ds since 2005 and now my battery only holds about 2 hours at most. I suggest you use get a new battery and dont play your ds while it is charging. Thats what I did most of the time, because I listen to a lot of music and that affects the battery life.
