    Sorry bad english

I am currently playing Pokemon Ultra Moon on Emulator Cintra and I am enjoying it a lot. I am really very happy playing it. This game is just perfect.

But of course I cannot connect in Nintendo Network

Does have any advantage in play it on a real Nintendo 3DS console and using the internet features of this game ?

The unique real pokemon game that I have in my life and played in in a real hardware was Pokemon black on Nintendo DS, and I not get any advantage in to play online, all ranked battles are so boring because all enemy teams are made by the same pokemons with the same moves. Is like to play forever with the same adversary again and again. This was very boring. Still like this nowadays ?

I guess the unique good thing was to be able to trade pokemon online. I fear to try it on Citra because everybody looks like send only hacked pokemon that may damages save file.

In few words, do you guys think that is worth to buy a Nintendo 3Ds and the game Pokemon Ultra Moon or the online features are so thin that not makes it worth ?

I was thinking to trade my PS4 on a Nintendo 3DS or sell my PS4 and with the money buy a used Nintendo 3DS.

Which model is the best ?

What you guys think about it ?

The non-XL Mario (Black or Animal Crossing-White+ both have changeable faceplates) 'New' 3ds model is best IMO but that's a matter of opinion, and since they're no longer made or sold, they're harder to find, more portable. Depending on your area, you should be able to get one at a better price than what you can sell your PS4 for though. To answer part of your question of benefit, I don't play the game someone else will have to answer but portability/playing away from the computer/home is one definite advantage.

I would always recommend the New3DS hardware (New3DS, New3DS XL, 2DS XL) over old3DS hardware (old3DS, old3DS XL, ax head 2DS.) The new3DS has far better specs and thus has better performance for games that use those specs and emulation. The main advantage to hardware over emulation is just that, real hardware over emulation, thus no issues with compatibility or issues possibly caused by emulation.

I am pretty much happy with emulation quality, I am just sad for the lack of online functionality, but I wonder If is REALLY worth the online functionality. In Pokemon Black of Nintendo DS the online functionality not makes it worth. I am just asking that in the new pokemon game Pokemon Ultra Moon the online functionality is better, is more worth. If will play online against people that always uses the same 3 pokemon team with always the same moves like happened in Pokemon Black of Nintendo DS this is for sure NOT worth.

You undertand me ? in pokemon black only 3 pokemon are strong to play online. No one play online without using the same 3 Pokemon. this is boring. To have a game with more than 600 pokemon and everybody uses the same 3 pokemon is just boring. it is unbalanced. in Pokemon Ultra Moon still like this ? I never played online Pokemon Ultra Moon, the I not know.

In Pokemon Black I played 30 online battles all 30 online battles the online opponent used exactly the same 3 pokemon. Then I gave up to play online. Pokemon Ultra Moon is like this too ? Nowadays I no longer have a Nintendo hardware, then is impossible for me to know.

I wanted to play online, but, If everybody always uses the same Pokemon, I not want to play it.

You understand me now ? I have a bad englisj and I am not smart, maybe I was unable to explain to you my question in a understandable way.

Timing is also a major issue with emulators, and depending on the game could give you an unfair advantage. This also accounts for why speedruns played on emulators are typically listed under a separate category.

Portability, first and foremost. You can carry 3DS in your pocket, after all.

Well, through my years of playing emulated games, I've always found that playing on the actual hardware is more satisfying for me. It boils down to your personal preference though.

for pokemon? only if you really want to play online and trade. which is fun, but can also be very annoying.

there are other games where the touch screen is a lot more useful and likely games that don't work well on citra.

a 3ds (preferably with cfw of course) is worth it if you want to play more 3ds games in the future. the 80 or so bucks for a 2ds are a good investment for a system with at least a hundred great games.

For me the unbeatable aspect the hardware has vs emulators reside in rhythm games. On emulators those are ALWAYS desynced with the music and there is a lot of sound/input lag, and is hard to make them sync because the emulation nature itself, so there is not much that can be made to fix it. One notable examples for me in the 3DS are the Hatsune Miku games and Rythm Heaven.

    Well, let's recap...
    1. Real hardware, no emulation issues.
    2. Get a cheap R4-like flashcart, and real DS hardware with no emulation issues.
    3. Portable, on the go.
    4. Emulators and Virtual Console for other consoles (GB/C/A, SNes, and even PS1 now).
Get a N2DS XL and you're set up for good ;)

Playing it anywhere whereas Citra is like on PC.

You talking about the Doorstopper 2DS? Better to get the New 2DS instead, then.

If I were to buy a newer model, it would be the New 3DS XL, but I'm fine with the Launch 3DS XL.

I mean some games are just better with a touch screen.
Take Etrian Odyssey for instance. Yeah a mouse will work, but you're gonna get wrist problems
Also N3DSXL is the best imo, but you can get the N2ds (xl if possilbe) if you don't like the 3ds aspect

The Launch 3DS doesn't have much value today although the XL version is still desirable due to the bigger screen. No surprise you got it for £21/$27.

By the way, your signature says "03DS".. Zero 3DS. lol

I love how OPs question of whether online features in Ultra Sun and Moon got completely ignored and turned into an emulator vs real hardware discussion.

I honestly have no experience playing Ultra Sun/Moon online so I can't tell you if it's worth it or if people only use 3 most strongest pokémon because of balancing issues. Maybe some years in the future when I decide to play it I will be able to answer you.
