I have a weird situation. 2 years ago, i created an external hard drive and backed up a bunch of my wii games. Suffice it to say, the games on the drive are important and not easily retrieved otherwise.

My wii reads the drive flawlessly using USB Loader. But, when trying to back up more games, neither my Windows 7 or 8 pcs nor OS X can read the drive. OSx is telling me it's formatted as ExFAT.

I tried to load a VirtualBox with LinuxMint on it, but no luck either. All OS's want me to format the drive before it can be recognized.

What to do? I don't want to lose the data on the drive, but I'd also like to be able to add more backups to it!

Thank you

Are you sure that it is not a WBFS formatted drive? ExFAT is not supported by any usb loader.

Use wii game manager and see if it will recognize your drive.
