If you are having trouble with the new cIos Rev 12 with your USB hard drives, switch USB ports. I had been using the one on the left (if you are facing the back side of the console) and now it only works correctly on the right port.

    Problems solved.

Why do people always refer to left/right port while it's top/bottom? The port to use for usb HDDs is the port at the bottom.

PS: That did not solve my problem that no game worked.

LOL...I think he meant left/right for those who have their Wii vertically and bottom/top for people's like you and I who have their Wii sitting horizontally.

Still.., top/bottom makes more sense cause that's the way the Wii came packed and also where the rubber feets are (bottom of course).

    LMAO

Cause most people have the Wii in the 'vertical' stand which will make the USB ports be side to side (One in the left and one in the right). When the Wii is in the horizontal position then one is in the top and the other in the bottom.

I would always fear that using it vertically, the drive and/or discs get damaged.

3 years of owing a Wii, always in vertical position, no damaged disks yet.
