I decided I'll now begin keeping track of every time GBATemp goes offline and shows the server error message because I don't have a life. Of course it'll be only the times I notice the website going offline. All timestamps are GMT, 24 hour format, and in YYYY/MM/DD

    1. 14:39, 2018/09/07
    2. 10:37, 2018/09/11
    3. 12:21, 2018/09/11
    4. 13:28, 2018/09/17

    First I should link
    https://gbatemp.net/threads/temper-tantrums-10-raiding-the-temp.512559/
To be a pedant then for proper proper international use then actually most places will probably go with YYYY/MM/DD, though internally you would be right for most ( https://ipfs.io/ipfs/QmXoypizjW3WknFiJnKLwHCnL72vedxjQkDDP1mXWo6uco/wiki/Date_format_by_country.html ).

YYYY/MM/DD is the only one that makes sense. Similar to how we measure time as H:M:S and so on.

If your goal is to make it understandable across timezones, why not go with UTC intead of GMT?

Because there is no difference between UTC and GMT

Huh, had never thought of that, actually. It makes sense, though, going from larger to smaller units, left to right.

Did you know that every time that gbatemp.net goes offline at least 1 small baby in the world shits itself.

Also totally unrelated but underneath our clothes we are all naked hmmm think about that 1.

In file names it also means when files are listed in alphabetical/numerical order they are also in ascending/descending date order.

I think it's most common that we mistake which makes sense since we mostly refer to Month/Day or Day/Month because we are that small and usually live day to day. Like this:
    Andromeda: What time is it?
    Milky Way: Oh, 2018/13.5Byears/13.8Byears
