The popular subscription-based game has dropped the need for recurring charges as the franchise marks its thirteenth year on the scene. If you're still set on forking out that $14.99 for full access, you can, but there's now a one-time $5 silver membership as well as the totally free option. Of course, it's free as in beer, with parts of the game restricted (only four character races and classes etc)

Not bad for a start like Warcraft

Wasn't aware this kind of info is news worthy.

Everquest 2, Champions Online, DC Universe Online, Lineage 2, (Almost) Aion, and a few others I forgot were pay to play, but are now free to play also.

I'm just impressed that Everquest is still sticking around. I'm starting to believe that it may in fact be immortal, though only time will tell.

EverQuest 2 was already F2P, why would we care so much about EverQuest 1 then?
Everquest 2 had better graphics and was supposedly the sequel, but it never really reached the quality and playability that the first game had, hence the first was older but by far superior.
