Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Tetris, Nintendo is releasing some of the classic versions of the game onto Nintendo Switch Online. Playable starting today is the NES version of Tetris, which released back in 1989, alongside Tetris DX for the Game Boy Color. The announcement trailer even features the creator of Tetris, Alexey Pajitnov, making the reveal himself. The original Game Boy release of Tetris was added to Nintendo Switch Online back when Game Boy titles were added to the service in February 2023.

This may seem meaningless but this is actually a huge deal. Tetris is notoriously hard to get any rights for.

I am pretty sure the professionals know more than you on this one.
My therapist suggested Tetris after I had experienced something rather upsetting earlier this week and it actually did help me open up and work through it

That said, Nintendo is actually lagging behind every service again this month

This so much. I would put tetris in the same ball park as chess or a jigsaw puzzle. It's a game that just happens to be a videogame.

Games, like music, movies, or books, can be very therapeutic. For me it’s music. Games are fun though. I like Battleship and I slay at Monopoly.
