Hacking EU n3ds - Is there really an issue being on 9.2?

I have a 9.0 firmware imported Australian n3ds. I ordered a cubic ninja but it isn't here yet. When it gets here I can still install gateway/emunand right? Someone said I could update using a rom, if so which rom? I really don't care about shop access.

There's no reason to go higher than 9.0 if you don't care about eshop access.

Some newer revs of SSB have 9.2 on them, but not sure it is required to play. I think only 8.1 is. Not sure about the Dino and steam game.

Ssb requires update for online right? How does one apply said update to a rom

Just stay at 9.0.

yeah stay on 9.0 sysnand, and you can update emunand to 9.2 via a rom if you feel like, but pretty sure any games "requiring" 9.2+ will work with 9.0 anyway with FW spoofing

PS for EU consoles its cooking mama that has the 9.2 update

you can install game updates without the need to access eshop, just install the update as .cia and you're good to go online

Codename Steam has 9.4 on it, but Cooking Mama (latest one) has the 9.2 update on it. But 9.0 and 9.2 only differ with theme stuff, both are equally exploitable.

yeah if you want to update emunand to 9.5 you can use the cia method, but really its not really required and doesn't really offer anything new
