Atlus announced they are localizing Etrian Odyssey IV. "Early 2013" should see the first 3ds title in the series (an original one that started on the DS in 2007) which has the subtitle Legends of the Titan.

Sweet! I loved the first 3 games. A little grindy, but they were always a challenge.

It's slow going, but the 3DS is reaching a point where I want one, ahaha.

Looks good, I might get this

Are the first 3 worth playing? (I realise this may be a stupid question)

Yeah, they're pretty damn good. A bit grindy and challenging but pretty fun all the same.

Well they can be fairly difficult resulting you to grind but it is a good turn based game and if you don't like the idea of possibly having to grind 4 has a casual mode.

I'm hoping that the localisation to Europe afterwards won't take that long. z.z
I can't wait to play this game (and a few others being released later this year and next)

Atlus game. More chance of flying pigs than localising it quickly. Probably give it to someone incompetent like Zen United.

If you intend to get EO4 then not really. 1 and 2 are (imo) far too hard, even for people who enjoy a challenge. 3 however got the balance just right, it lightened up the difficulty a little and added a bunch of cool little features (the ship) that really sold the game for me but the 4th game seems to be following a similar pattern and even added an easy mode for people who don't like the difficulty.

    I will be getting this.

Not grindy if you build a good team. :D
Grinding shows that your party is weak.

Some people like to go off the beaten path. Like me. Plus it's almost impossible to gear yourself up properly without grinding for stuff to sell. And you have to grind for the materials too. So... no, I don't really agree there. Everyone's guaranteed to grind.
