So I opened all my christmas stuff today. I got a set of DVD-R's, like I asked for. My dad said there weren't any verbatim's at the best buy, so he got memorex instead. I told him it's fine.

so I burned Super Mario Galaxy onto one of the discs and, though it takes over a minute to load, it worked (I'm using neogamma). Then I tried with ACCF and I got the disc could not be read error message. Then I tried Super Paper Mario and I got that error as well.

    My Wii specs:
    3.2U (downgraded from 3.3U)
IOS v30 (is what is says at the bottom of preloader 0.29)
The bottom of my neogamma says Neogamma R6, IOS249 (Rev 7)

I've burned using Apple DVD-R's before, and never had any trouble (though the only game I ever burned was SMGalaxy...).
Anybody know what could be going wrong? I get the feeling my NeoGamma is way outdated, but it is newer than Super Paper Mario :|

So there's no magic burn speed or anything I could use to get it to work? (I'm using ImgBurn)

Well I guess I'll just have to come up with some cash for a newer better set of discs. I don't feel like buying something online (I've heard you have to get verbatims from asia); can anyone recommend the best brand you can use if I'm limited to the selection of bestbuy and target?

I think it's to do with the burner not the media some burners will burn a good copy on any media and others which won't burn a good copy on premium media(verbaitims)

Memorex works fine on some burners, but usually not. Cheap discs + cheap burner = coaster

Just stick with Verbatim and burn them @ 2x . Iam using them for a while without any problems.

Okay, so what's a better free burner than ImgBurn?

I'm talking about the hardware, not the software. Low end burners need good media to get a decent burn.

Since changing the hardware is not really an option for many people, try Verbatim discs, and burn them at 2x or 4x. Best around, and works in everything I've used them on, even my junky LITEON...

...He meant burners as in DVD drives. But stick with ImgBurn. It's the best for everything, but it won't help if you have cheap hardware.

Sometimes updating the firmware of your dvd drive can give you better burns with cheap media. That's if there is one for your dvd drive. You should google the name of your dvd drive, check device manager for the name.

memorex are the worst brand to burn anything on, avoid at all costs, can't you replace them with some sony or verbatims?

I use some Office Depot DVD-Rs with an optical drive that only burns on 3x (lowest) with Nero Image Rom. Never got a bad disc yet, but I am using cIOSCORP.
Aren't the ones I using cheap?
