Eric Chahi the creator of the classic Future Wars and Another World has finally worked on a new game, the first since the pretty good Heart of Darkness way back in 1998. It is said to be a cross between Populous and Black & White.

Looks pretty interesting from the looks of it. I'll have to check it out once it's released.

wow. glad to hear there's a PC version.

but what does steam exclusive mean?
You can only download it on steam......no other similar game service
That's not entirely true. Steam exclusive means that no matter where you purchase it you will have to register it to a Steam account. The actual game data can come from any kind of source though really.

so it means it's possible to pirate it? or better purchase it?

Of course it's still going to be piratable like all other Steam titles, but that's besides the point.

Frontpage'd by Another World.

Another World looked interesting although I never really got into it. Still, Chahi's influence in gaming and his innovations in art style are still enough to perk my ears at any game he makes. It looks good from the screenies, hopefully it'll be excellent.

its all about the mechanics in strategy games, graphics dont go too far (AOE?)

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
