As you know, the Wii keeps a list of your daily play history. It sends you a message including this data every day.

Unfortunately, you can't erase this play history. This is apparently so that kids can't hide the list of games and playing times from their parents.

Has someone released a tool to allow this data to be erased? (I presume it would operate on a similar basis to the savegame and Mii extractors.)

With the new Nintendo Channel phoning home, it would be nice to be able to remove references to "Homebrew Channel 0:01" from the list...

Thanks, Lou -- I'll do that in future. Does it actually stop logging the play history, or does it just stop sending you the message. It warns that the message board is unavailable, but doesn't say anything about the logs.

Unfortunately I, and I'm sure others, have already run the Homebrew Channel before the Nintendo Channel was announced. So is there any way for us to clear our Play History?

who cares? the play history isn't gonna be what nintendo will check. there's a lot easier ways for them to log what you are doing.

But playing a game before it's release date is a dead giveaway, whereas some homebrew channel could be a totally legal demo. So it would be good to be able to do this..

They are already checking it with the Nintendo Channel. Any games played over one hour are listed in the recommended list.

Why don't you simply set a wrong date ?
Your wii knows the day we are because YOU told it ! Set it as if we were on october 2015 (for exemple) and it would record that date !
If you wanna play a game released on the USA but not yet in EUR (for exemple), set the wii at a date where the PAL release is supposed to be on the market already.

Sorry for my Engrish.

Then what happens when you try to use something with inbuilt checks inbetween?
For example:
day 1, game comes out in first region, you want to play, so set to day 3, when game comes out in your region
day 2, Nintendo checks and sees you have a History for day 3, which you shouldn't have yet, and though the game may be out by day 3, this information is sent on day 2.

Answer: Nothing, cause Nintendo plain won't care.

And geez, you really think they're gonna check the play history when there's a nice \sys\uid.sys file that records the four-symbol-code (like RSBE for R=Wii Game SB=SmashBros E=USA) of every game played on your Wii?

The homebew channel involves hacking your wii, which is clearly not 'totally legal'. If it was then nintendo would have made a legal way to run homebrew, without hacking.

just because nintendo don't approve does NOT make homebrew illegal --it IS totally legal to write software and run it on hardware that we own. Piracy is another matter, but certainly the homebrew channel is completely legal.
Nintendo don't make a way to run homebrew cos its not in their business interests to do so.
