Damn nba2k21 for free. Never played outriders and it's only 30 bucks for me with the coupon so I'll probably get this one.

What a relief that you can sort the store by price now. Still not sure I want to spend $5 to add another game to my backlog, though. I hear Superliminal is nice, but dangit, whatever I buy is going to be given away for free before I ever get around to playing it.

Superliminal is good (and it's short). You can complete it in one setting, I think it took me under two hours. It didnt stay in my backlog long however, I suppose there's also no harm in waiting :-)

People keep saying things like this, but do you actually read any reviews on Steam before making any purchase decisions?
Well, yeah. Not always, if it's a brand new game I usually don't. It's like buying a product on Amazon. I always read the reviews if I'm not sure on the products quality.

Yes, it's a good place to see if a game has denuvo, for example, because sadly some companies try hiding that fact in either their EULA or just don't communicate it at all.
Okay, but aren't there other sites on the Internet that are just as good for determining if a game has Denuvo? (And how many of those could there be these days, anyway?)

if a game got mixed or negative reviews as average, first thing i do is seeing why, did that for replicant recently, for example, hasnt bought it yet xP.
So if a game has mixed or negative reviews as average, do you ever still end up buying the game after reading the reviews?

In a sale or if i want to, depends, I'm a being provided with free will.

Also about denuvo, and 3rd party drm in general, no better site than steam to see if a game has it, since there's a part on the sidebar (next to where it lists language) dedicated to listing the drms the game has. We are talking about the place we will buy that game, so having things like that built in to help you make the choice is crucial, and something that should be part of any store day one ;)

You're using some pretty poor arguments for why a review section isn't necessary. User reviews on the platform are easier to access as they're right there. Convenience is a huge factor here. Not to mention that not all big tech review sites (if any, really) are immune to paid reviews. So, they may leave out game breaking issues, or otherwise. Whereas user reviews are quick to point out faults. Sometimes super nitpicky, but they're there for all to read.

I guess this is an unpopular opinion but I absolutely love this game and I've never bought any in-game currency or played online. I only tried it on PS5 because 2K made the ridiculous decision to make the PC version last gen.

Out of the 10 or so PS5 games I've got this has the most hours played by far. I don't know whether it's the fact I've done fantasy sports leagues for the last 19 years but I love all the stats involved in basketball, baseball etc.

Imagine Epic game store in iOS and free games every week from Epic if they win the law suit with Apple. Also cereal will have to change name to something without the word real.

not into sport game, so meh. I am tempted to buy KH1.5+2.5 collection, but I really doubt I have the willpower to replay all KH games all over again.

I think the best would be pay by time played. Risk free model. You only really pay when you enjoy the game. If the game sucks no body end up being the sucker who pay for something that is worthless to them.

Like I said, many companies hide the fact that their games use denuvo either outright (Sonic Mania went 11 or so days without disclosing it and customers reviewed it negatively as a result) or in their 3rd party EULA (Square Enix games, specifically Rise of the Tomb Raider from what I've personally noticed myself). That's why the review section is useful, as well as the discussions section.

Not nowadays, there's a yellowish rectangle for all games on the sidebar stating the drm the game have, that's something steam enforces, btw im not against reviews or any good feature for a store to have like the epic shill there. Like i said i go to reviews to see how broken the port/online code or how trash in general the game is.

I know, that yellowish rectangle was already a thing in my examples dude. That's literally my entire point. Some companies skirt the rules and get called out in the reviews. They SHOULD use it, but they DON'T.

It's like I'm defending traffic cameras saying they're necessary because some people don't stop on red lights, and you're saying "well when the light turns red people should stop so there's no point".
