[ ~~~ SOLVED ~~~ ]

Hi @ all,

I need a little bit help. :)

I have the following system:

  • New 3DS XL
  • sysNAND 9.2.0-20E
  • emuNAND GW3D 11.0.0-33E
  • I use Menuhax as entrypoint to launch the GW Mode
Here are my questions:

  • It is safe to update my Emunand to 11.2.0-35E?
(Normaly i know what I do, with my Wii and Wii U / vWii / But at N3DSXL I'm unsure)
  • Is my Sysnand MenuHax entrypoint after the update still working?
  • When not which entrypoint is the best alternative?
  • I'm not sure what to do. Update or not?
Thank you for your help in advance. :)

Greetings SweetBlueEyes

1. It's safe to update emunand, but you will need the newest launcher.dat
2. Updating emunand does now affect sysnand, so menuhax will still work
3. A9LH is considered the best entry point currently
4. Up to you

Gateway also has their own version of A9LH with instructions, but most people use the standard A9LH the guide to which retrofan posted. You can migrate to A9LH without losing data easily by backing up your emuNAND using multinand tool by pressing "Extract Nand" (It's somewhere here on gbatemp) and then inject back after you finished with A9LH setup.

Yes actually. The guide includes a method of transferring your emunand over to your sysnand using the tools that a9lh provides.

[ ~~~ UPDATE ~~~ ]

N3DSXL runs now successfully on A9LH.

After finishing the guide I have one last question:

  • Can I easily move all my data from my 8GB micro SD Card (Card inside the N3DSXL) to a bigger one? (Or do I have to consider something?)
Greetings :)

Yes and if you copy and pasted the arm9loaderhax.bin to to the ctr NAND you can boot the 3ds without a sd card.So all you would need to do for a bigger sd card is move all the data from the old one to the new one just like a normal 3ds.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
