Is there a genesis emualtor? If there isnt, why not?
Assuming you're talking about the GBA, the reason there isn't one is because the system is too powerful for the GBA to handle. Your computer is likely over 100 times as powerful as the GBA. Even if there was an emulator, it would probably be slow and would not have sound.
For the DS, look into jEnesisDS.
Ok thanks, I thought that if they had a super Nintendo emulator that they would have genesis but the super Nintendo doesn't even work that good so i can see why.
Are they any other emulators for the GBA besides NES, SNES and Game Gear?
There's Goomba, for Game Boy/Color.
SMS advance. Sega Master System, closest your gonna get to Genesis.
Actually there was rumoured to be a megadrive/genesis emulator at one time.
On the other hand look through the GBA library, more than a few are ports from the SNES/megadrive, aside from streets of rage (there is a very early homebrew version) and bomberman (try the PCE version of bomberman '93).
It is somewhat out of date (flubba and dwedit amongst others have made many more versions/tweaks since the last update and the folks over and palib and playeradvance have made more remakes)
snes emulation was sort of a way for loopy to prove he could do something everyone said couldn't be done. the emu in its last build only supported a very small handful of games and each with their own issues. the app was later picked up by flubba and a few bug fixes were added. my point here is the reason it so buggy is because support was dropped very early.
i've been toying with gba flash kits for over 7 years and i've never heard of a megadrive/genesis emu. sounds like a rumor from a wishful gamer.
I looked but could not find a binary/source release, it was floating around Japanese websites for a while (I found it while searching for meteo (the video player) information/downloads). I am more than willing to call stupid rumour/misinformation though.
I will see if it is still in my bookmarks but I suspect it was purged long ago.
i'd like to play with it, if its real. even if its just source. it would be worth looking over.
there are several for the DS, but, as has been said, none for the gba
