Hello again! I know I just posted yesterday about the whole case modding and modchipping stuff, but now I've got another question!
So my question is as such: how would I go about emulating the N64/NES/SNES/Genesis on the GC? And I mean without using the SD adapter or anything; just discs. Can I store the emulator and the few ROMs that I'll need, all on a disc? Or do I absolutely need an SD adapter? It doesn't matter if running it off plain discs is harder, I just want to be able to do it =P

Edit: Just realized I have an N64 along with my favorite games in my room somewhere, so scratch that off the list.

I'd say completely switch to an SD gecko and SD's and use Swiss on a mini DVD as the boot.
It's cheaper and easier in the long run + it doesn't burn out your laser.

An SD gecko (Wii Key SD) is only a quid or 2 and it can read SDHC.

Edit: as for emulators, there's one for NES, SNES and N64 yep.
Most Wii emulators also have GC ones or even started as GC ones.

In theory it should be possible with a modchip such as like as the xeno one that makes it possible to launch burnt discs where yours contains an (S)NES emulator. But IDK if there is an (S)NES emulator for the gamecube. But you should be able to do this with Megadrive emulator.
Maybe someone can figure out how to make discs the GameCube doesn't reject. This is what Datel did with their Action Replay

There's definitely no softmod installer. Action Replay, SD Media Launcher, or exploitable games, all need an operational disc drive.
A normal xeno also does. (unless it's been hacked to get around that?)

Myself I've never used the fancier modchips with SD slots.
