I'm trying to edit the icon of a NDS rom.
The problem is, everytime I try inserting an icon with dsbuff, RomeR or NDS Header Edit, it simply won't work and always tell me it has to be 16 colors.

So I've converted my icon to 16 colors using a program I had a hard time to find. Then after converting it to 16 colors, it STILL said it had to be 16 colors.
It's the right size, too. 32x32 as it should be.

    What program did you use?
I know Conware's IconArt can make proper icons in a range of formats.

use crytaltile2 view the nds file structure click on a file look through the file stucture menus til you see View Icon
click on that tile export tile - then save that as you wish
edit using the same colours and use ct2 too reinsert and your done

    edit
sigh use the same colours or go graysacale and reinsert with that in mind that IF it is telling you it is not 16 colours thenits not 16 colours so redo it the way is I suggest either with the same colours or dumped and edited in black and white
use dsbuff to uncompress the rom open the file with the icon it form those files and view it the way it should insert it and and save and rebuild the rom with dsbuff
(yes tried both ways and works just using a different game)

I don't remember - I deleted the program since it didn't allow me to edit the icon.

    I tried IconArt.
I open my 32x32 icon, convert it to 16 colors then save it.

    Still isn't accepted by dsbuff.
