As has been noted in the past I am a bastard and to such ends
*Snip*
Oh what the fuck? When I first heard news of this and saw screens I thought "huh well I hope its good, seems like it'll be like the first game". Then I saw that footage and realised its another shitty low budget iPhone game that was probably made in under a month and is James Pond in name only.

This game was a real gem. Really good looking, hard enough, and short enough to not make you kill yourself for the lack of savegames.

And now, after a good game... a really crappy one:

Hideous game. Looked like shit, played like shit.

I don't remember the first game Rauly, ever! So might look into it.

Yeah Cliffhanger...game sucked.

Another sucky licensed game, apparently this was developed in a few weeks.

Remember the days when different publishers had rights to one movie but could only make a game for specific platforms? Ocean did do some poor licensed games but also did cool ones like Batman & Adams Family. They ported a lot of stuff over from other consoles and arcades too.

Also I always had a strong fondness for Exile. I was suspended from school for a week for running a pirate version on the BBC Micro in class.

This game...many loved it so much.

Oh man, Exile looks SICK! I haven't ever played it, but I'm sure I'd have loved it :yay: *grabs*

Fury of the Furries has been installed on my miggy HD since MONTHS, but I haven't ever got the occasion to play it. Will do soon!

Winuae: http://www.winuae.net/

http://www.winuae.net/files/InstallWinUAE2400.exe

Install, download Kickstart 1.3, 2.04 and 3.1 (you'll have to search for those by yourself, they're illegal to share), place them into a dir, run WinUAE, go into "PATHS" set the path to the Kickstarts.

Select your Amiga model in Quickstart (A500, A600, A1200), press "Select Image File", load up your game ROM, press "START". That's it ;)

Probably 27 posts by the time I post this including several of my own and nobody linked up
Cannon fodder
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Fl1pCPb504

P.S. DS version- http://gbatemp.net/topic/310111-cannon-fodder-ds-v10/

Also Lemmings
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fb8CPIRo04

P.S. DS version- http://www.mrdictionary.net/lemmings/

The Chaos Engine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pm-X8zmxpns

No DS version I am aware of but you should be able to play some of the ports which were pretty good.

There are many more but I have no great desire to turn this into an essentials list (primarily as I kind of already made one- http://gbatemp.net/topic/126626-essentials-amiga-atari-spectrum-c64/ )

Any fans of Cannon Fodder...please avoid Cannon Fodder 3, it was made by a bunch of amateurs and is more like a fucking twin stick shooter. CF 2 wasn't so hot but at least it was decent and played like Cannon Fodder.

Also I enjoyed the GBC version a lot, probably the only d-pad controlled version I could play right.

Truth is, there are too few Amiga fans on this site to actually make an Essentials threads worthwhile to have :(

Loved Cannon Fodder, played it at a friend's house :P (and most of the High School on my PSP with the SNES port of it)

I should fire up Lemmings again, I remember playing it very little, but enjoying it a lot.

Why would I possibly object.

This being said as much as I enjoyed the amiga, and much like some of the others here it was an introduction to all this, I did not go half as in depth as I might have and compared to other consoles so I do not know how much help I will be in making it; add in zool, any maxis and add in any bullfrog titles we missed and I think we have my main amiga memories so far in this thread.

Edit- looking through my box of tapes though I did just find my copy of Short Circuit for the spectrum.
