henge, now its worst. What can i do? Can they stop me from returning my ds lite or are they scamming me? Or am I doom with a broken ds lite. Oh btw the top screen is now just white when u turn it on. The bottom is fine. Also I live in Canada. Please help me the warranty end this month!

You need to read what you are buying. What you need is accidental coverage. I know the plans we sold at Staples covered that but not all plans do. Accidental damage usually isn't covered though.

Yes they can. Physical damage is something that is not related to a manufacturer defect. You did that damage...hence it is not covered under any warranty.

You are doomed unless you contact Nintendo and try to convince them you deserve it...but tough luck really...scrounge up the money and buy a new one. So stop bothering the EBGames guys as they are not scamming you...they simply cannot take it back.

Funny I distinctly remember being lied to then on the original DS and GBA SP in the day. They said the warranty basically covered anything short of theft as long as you had the original serial # still on the unit when returned.

Also didn't Nintendo kind of admit the crack was an issue and was doing replacements for that sometime in the last year?

The top screen probably doesn't work because your brother broke the hinges and probably tore a wire somewhere. Did they give you a brochure when you bought the plan?

As long as there is physical damage, the warranty is void. Call Nintendo's tech support and see what happens...you're not gonna be able to return it to the store at this point.

i would call up Nintendo and say something like this...

you: Hi, my DS lite broke at the hinge, i heard there was a problems with the DS'es breaking at the hinge... Its still under warranty, i bought it less than a year ago.

Nintendo Rep: How bad is it broken?

you: Its dangling by the guts. I opened it up, and it just cracked. (break out crying)

NR: its ok, we can replace it.

My DS's hinge broke (it was not my fault, it randomly care apart - if you were on #MKDS-tournament for the first round of Gamerman's mkds tourney, you would know) I called Nintendo up and they tried to push a $50 repair fee onto me because it was apparently my fault.
I talked my way out of that one, convincing the guy that it was a defect, and my DS is on its way back to me, completely free of charge.

...you might have been able to do that had not you superglued it back together, now i am not so sure.

It should work.

Tell her that and the Nintendo Person will say '' Sorry buy you opened the product thus voiding the warranty. ''
