Hacking Easiest Method to install CFW on 2DS on FW 11.4 in 2018??

Have gotten a Pink 2DS for my 7 year old niece for xmas and want to install CFW onto it (probably Luma3DS) what is the easiest method for a 2DS on FW 11.4 in DEC 2018?, and its there a way to do it without a flashcard, DSi Game or Hard modding?

EDIT: I have a Blue Gateway card that i used to use on my O3DS years ago but have tried inserting that into the 2DS but get a system error message when powering on the 2DS so im not sure thats compatible with the 2DS?

There are not pure software exploits for 11.4. Update the firmware to 11.9 and follow the "Frogminer" path of the guide:

You do not have to buy DSiWare, but your DS-mode must be working. Just start any DS-cartridge or the DS-version of the "Download Play" app. If you can play DS games and/or start DS Download Play, you can use the free Frogminer method.

If you have a not working DS-mode, ntrboot flashcart or hardmod are your only options.
