Those looking forward to the next entry into the Skate series will be able to try the game out for themselves soon, as EA has announced that the upcoming .skate will be releasing in early access in 2025. This will be the first Skate game in 15 years, following Skate 3 which released in 2010. It'll be a free to play game, with live service elements and microtransactions. More information about the early access release will be coming soon, following playtests for consoles and PC.

I played that alpha build and it's good, they nailed the physics and controls to the point where Session and Skater XL couldn't
frankly whether it's live service or not doesn't make a difference to me, so long as I can skate around and have fun in the map
that's all I ever played these games for, and when it goes offline? Someone will be there to take it offline, that's already the state the alpha exists in.
How does it compare to Skate 3, in terms of movement/controls and areas? Big thing in Skate 3 for me was the tiny little hidden areas, and the general atmosphere of Port Carverton.
They haven't added music yet, have they? I feel like those were big selling points of the first games, and I got a bit of my current taste from the Skate 3 soundtrack.

I was thinking they'll make this game online-only and there it is: F2P and Live Service.

These newer generations will eventually be unable to play games because of practices like these that make games unplayable (remember MAG on PS3? yeah can't play it).

I never made any direct correlations as I never thought about the two that much, but if the new one feels as good as I thought it did it must be pretty close to skate 3. The controls are tight and responsive, maybe with a little less heft iirc? With good recognition for what tricks are in the game at this point and collision works well too, there is no music yeah and the areas are a bit bare and small at this point but it's enough to spend a little time with and get some cool lines going. If you're curious it is floating around and it's something like a gig and a half. Worth noting that it was pretty old, from 2022 I think

Thanks, I'll check it out, I've signed up for the beta at the beginning but never got invited (or did and it's lost in a folder of a forgotten email)

What the fuck are you even talking about? How are those two things mutually exclusive in any way?

>You state that you knew, that the obvious will happen.

It's like making a comment about the Sun coming up every morning and being proud of it.

Not really. One is a near certainty, the other is a likelihood. And regardless of all that, this is a forum designed for discussion of gaming and adjacent topics. You want to talk about certainty, try not getting irritated when people discuss gaming. It's just conversation, leave people the fuck alone to talk about what they want.
