Ever get a song stuck in your mind and no matter how hard you try, you can't stop singing, whistling, humming or at least thinking about it?

Supposedly this phenomenon is called Ear worm. With me, it's so intense it never stops. Almost 100% of my day, each day, I find my mind playing the same tune over and over again. Currently it's the Song of Nimrodel because I've been listening to The Lord of the rings audio book by JRR Tolkien.

It drives my wife crazy because sometimes I will sing or whistle the same song over and over for several days. It can be a Christmas song, a pop song, a children's song or just some music I heard in public.

It's such a cute name for something so annoying :-)

You might want to pay attention if it starts affecting your daily life :-P
Severe intrusive cases could be a sign of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). It falls under the "obsessive" part, specifically in intrusive repetitive thoughts.
