After much teasing and rumors, EA has finally unveiled the return of their Battlefield franchise this year with Battlefield 4.
The game was shown off with a 17-minute gameplay demo (viewable above). It starts off with the main character, Recker, trapped in a sinking car with his comrades. The video then shows the events leading up to this.
Battlefield 4 will run off Frostbyte 3 and it does look rather impressive. The game is now available for pre-order on major outlets and Origin, and pre-orders receive a free Premium expansion pack.
It's currently slated for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. DICE specified that it won't be receiving a Wii U release because, in his words, "I'd rather play it safe, deliver something really good and then look at the future and what could possibly be done than trying a bit too hard and [failing]." No word on whether it'll come to the recently announced Playstation 4 or the unannounced Xbox 360 successor.

    Well there's your problem.
EA has not tried too hard in a few years now.

It looks great graphically and everything, but it is still just yet another modern military shooter.

So not a single fuck was given on this day.

I liked BF3 for a good amount of time, around the 70 hours mark I got really tired of it though. It's no where near CoD quality IMHO, just not fun enough to please me that long.
Still, a worthy addition to the FPS genre, and looking forward to it

Too soon. Should have waited for next gen and it's about time we get 128 players.

This is a very impressive tech demo.

    As a game, though? Meh.

No thanks. I'd rather shoot paper and steel targets with real guns than shoot imaginary humans with imaginary guns.

    I shall add this game to my collection of Battlefield games. I have a grand total of zero! ;o;
And I plan on keeping it that way.

Oh hey look, another overrated EA game that is going to alienate consumers by being released on Origin, PS3 and 360 and nothing else.

    nintendo am cry.

It's a bad outlook in terms of third-party support when one of the biggest games this holiday is skipping the Wii U but coming on everything else. And there's no bullshit about the risk-factor considering it's also coming out on the PS4. Just like the Wii, the only people supporting the Wii U are Ubisoft and Capcom.

On the FIRST HD platform of Nintendo, DICE confirms that there will not be Battlefield 4 for the Nintendo Wii U. DICE is apparently not comfortable importing the game into the Wii U. It was also confirmed that there will not be any female characters for the game.

Well, apparently, someone is about to drop in sales...

Are you guessing or do you know? All these miss titles are mostly from EA.
