Seems like the "hacker" actually existed, NWPlayer123 was posting about it on twitter and he/she's a trustable source.
In the end they got the kexploit to work but couldn't get network dumping to work in time to dump the whole game.

Yeah that's what I meant. I remember reading a thread on this site here a guy got his hands on one. It could not pull up the internet browser and only could run demo discs.
