I don't think they will since they can't port it to 8.1 but I hope I am wrong

Just fyi I am one of only two people publicly working on 8.1 updates to 9.0-9.2 so if you know a way let me know. An update package wouldn't be released but would be nice, hopefully in the future downgrade is more of a reality and then I can see them implementing it.

Also for all we know gw could be waiting on Nintendo to patch something before they release something like this

I like my Gateway and booting with MSET isn't that cumbersome, but it would be nice to have support for the newer entrypoints.

The first is no longer possible because Nintendo removed the files from their servers.

The second deals with old3DSes, while we're talking about new3DS.

The second also works on N3DS, you just have to make sure you don't mix up the update packs from that iso site.
They come as O3DS and N3DS packs.

It doesn't work because no browser=no ninjhax=no pasta. It even says that at the top of the topic O.o

What about OoThax or Smashbroshax ?
And what about Gateway itself? Wasn't there support for 8.1J with OoT ? You could boot into sysNAND that way with signatures patched and gp for it.

I won't talk about the n3ds because ninjhax (which is required for the pasta cfw) doesn't work on 8.1J, and there's is no point in upgrading a 9.0 n3ds

Just thinking out loud here man ... I just posted what I saw.

Looking at yifanlus blog, we can built our own SOAP server ... the only piece missing is rerouting the FW download locally to our servers as well correct? Since 9.2 isn't available anymore on Nintendos servers if I understood it right.

exactly.. omg.. i wish people would research this stuff before trying to argue that the impossible is possible.. firstly, it's damn arrogant and cocky to assume that somehow you have the answer, and nobody else does, particularly when the "solution" is such an "obvious" one, such as "why don't you just use ____hax?" That is just downright insulting, as it assumes that those of us who have put a great deal of time and energy into this, haven't bothered to try the most pedantic of solutions.

Secondly, it is just tiresome to have to explain for the __th time that no browser really does mean no http(s) downloadable payload or any of that sort of thing, regardless of whether you see a browser in the process. And before someone says "nobody has to explain it.. just keep silent", I thought about that too, and then realized that it would be detrimental to the community to NOT say something, as before long you'd have threads claiming it's totally possible to do X Y and Z on a japanese 8.1.0 N3DS, when in reality it is not. confusing, especially for someone who stumbles in to GBAtemp looking for a solution, and who may not have a clue who is right or wrong.
