Homebrew 'DVD Read Err (972) no cIOS'

Hi and thanks for your time.


I have a Wii 3.4u bought in August

All I want to do is play iso games ONLY. Nothing more.

I have Homebrew channel loaded and Neogamma as well. They are the ONLY files that have been put on my Wii as per a tutorial from another site.

When I try to load a game through Gamma I get this message...'DVD Read Err (972) no cIOS'

All I want to do is go to Homebrew channel then pick Neo... then play games while keeping the ORIGINAL settings and menu if possible.

What else do I need to do to play and stop my system from bricking?

(or at least not meant like that)

To be able to use NeoGamma for backups, you'll need to install a cIOS
If you don't know how to do that, read one of the guides
like http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901
you can skip updating to 4.2 and only do the modify steps (you can also skip the remove stub IOS step)

O.k. so correct me if i am wrong.


Starting over I need to back up the NAND first?

Install bannerbomb, HBC and bootmii?

Then I have to restore the Trucha bug 4.1 or lower?

Then I have to install the Waninkokos cIOS (249 and 250)?

Then install Neogamma?



Keep in mind i have 3.4u and ONLY want to play games. Not interested in changing menus or whatever.

I want to keep it clean, no frills, just what's necessary.
